Who We Are

Peyton’s Purpose was born from a vision of a grieving mother who recently experienced the devastating loss of her unborn Son, Peyton Jeremyah. While in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights, Artesha received the best possible care. The nurses and other medical personnel catered to her every need and ensured she was comfortable despite the circumstances. Artesha gave birth to Peyton on Wednesday December 9, 2015 at 10:25 am. Upon discharge the next day, she was given a light blue keepsake box the included Peyton’s first outfit he wore, his booties, hospital bands, and a card signed by the nursing staff giving their condolences. Shortly after recieving the box, Artesha was wheeled out to her husbands’ car and that would be the last time she’d hear from Winter Haven Women’s Hospital.

Days would pass and she found herself in a dark place both mentally and emotionally. One of her colleagues, Vanessa gave Artesha a care package that included a red house robes, house shoes, chocolates, candles, body wash, lotion and a gift card. This care package helped her tremendously during the beginning stages of her grief. So much that Artesha was compelled to do something for other grieving mothers; something the hospital failed to do. Shortly after Peyton’s Purpose was born in April 2016. Artesha created a Facebook page for people who have experienced the devastating loss of a child. The first “Purpose Package” was shipped to a family in Flint, Michigan on October 11, 2016 who lost their daughter in delivery.
